He has a magisterial grasp of tax law and practice, which he deploys in dispensing technical advice and in dealing with HMRC enquiries and compliance interventions. He successfully represents clients in meetings, in ADR cases and before Tribunals.

    Nicola offers expert advice in many areas of tax including family companies and the individuals who own and work in them, company re-constructions, acquisitions and mergers, tax efficient structuring, international and cross border aspects of company taxation and incorporation.

    She is a highly knowledgeable Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountant with many years' experience and is able to advise both large and small clients.

  • Pete Miller CTA (Fellow)

    Pete is a former HMRC Inspector having held posts in Policy Division and Technical Division. He offers advice in all areas of Corporation Tax and specialises in reorganisations and reconstructions, the taxation of M&A transactions and intangible assets.

    Pete is an experienced speaker and co-author of Taxation of Company Reorganisations and contributes to many journals and technical magazines.

    Ros qualified as a fully trained Inspector of Taxes and worked in HMRC's Large Business Office.

    She has been in the private sector for many years providing specialist advice to clients on all planning aspects of direct tax and SDLT and focusing on providing practical solutions. She also has extensive experience of handling HMRC disputes and matters that have gone to the tax tribunal.

    Nick is a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser providing services to owner-managed businesses. Nick specialises in technical corporate tax planning, company restructures, acquisitions and demergers, and employment-related securities.

    Nick is also a frequent writer for Taxation magazine.

  • John Kingsley LLB (Hons) CTA

    John is a Chartered Tax Adviser with a legal background and more than 20 years' hands-on experience in the fields of owner-managed company taxation and corporate transactions.

    Whilst working as a tax specialist within the Accountancy profession, John applied his legal skills and training to provide expert advice on the full spectrum of direct tax issues affecting owner-managed companies, their shareholders, and directors.

    John is also well used to supporting other professionals operating in the OMB space and he always seeks to understand the commercial drivers, demystify complex topics, and avoid tax jargon.

  • David O'Keeffe FCA CTA

    David is a former Big-4 tax partner who provides specialist advice on the taxation of innovation, advising companies and other advisers on innovation incentives such as R&D tax relief, Patent Box, and Creative Industry Reliefs.

    He has been involved with the UK's R&D relief regimes since the initial consultations on the introduction of the SME relief. In that time, he has developed an enviable level of knowledge of R&D relief both from a technical and a practical perspective.

  • Lawrence McAulay BA (Cantab) MA CTA ATT

    In 1987, Lawrence graduated from Selwyn College, University of Cambridge with a Degree in Law.

    Since then, he has worked exclusively within tax in professional practice, serving business owners, high net worth individuals, property investors and developers, trustees and executors on a broad range of tax matters both in the UK and overseas.

    He also represents taxpayers who find themselves under investigation, or otherwise in dispute with HMRC. Lawrence is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians.

  • Malcolm Greenbaum ACA CTA ATT

    Malcolm qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 1995, winning the John Wood Medal for the best paper in Business Taxation.

    He worked for many years at BPP, eventually becoming Head of Tax and Financial Reporting Courses in the professional development division, before setting up his own training and consultancy company in 2008.

    He now provides training and advice on a wide variety of accounting and tax topics to accounting firms small and large, and large corporate groups.

  • David Craddock, BA MA (Oxon)

    David is a recognised leading authority on employee share ownership and reward management having authored The Tolley Guide to Employee Share Schemes and The Croner Reward A to Z Essentials of Pay and Benefits. He advises major PLCs with international considerations as well as smaller clients and is able to advise on all planning and compliance issues relating to these complex matters.

    Chris is a very experienced practitioner having had the benefit of an HMRC, Big 4 and FTSE 100 industry background. She specialises in IHT, Estate (both on shore and off shore) and Trust tax issues for high net-worth individuals.

    She is a published technical author and experienced lecturer with over 30 years' practical experience.

  • Sangeeta Johnson LLB (Hons), CTA, TEP

    Sangeeta is a Chartered Tax Adviser and Trust & Estate Practitioner with over 20 years of experience gained from working for several Top 10 accountancy firms. She specialises in advising private clients and trusts on inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax issues, ranging from simple compliance matters to technical tax planning solutions. Sangeeta also writes specialist IHT, trust and estate exam papers for two professional bodies.

  • Iris Wuenschmann-Lyall MA (Cantab) TEP

    Iris is a solicitor with extensive private client experience in trusts and estates. She advises on all trust tax and estate planning matters, whether onshore or offshore, from the simple to the highly complex with a particular emphasis on assisting high net-worth individuals. She is a co-author of Bloomsbury’s Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Trust and Estates Annuals. She contributes to Revenue Law, also published by Bloomsbury.

    Iris lectures on wills and probate matters, and is one of the lecturers on the STEP Advanced Certificate in Taxation of Trusts and Estates and the Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients.

  • Anne Sanders CTA

    Anne brings the benefit of many years' experience both in HMRC and private practice. She has worked in top accountancy firms and offers her extensive practical experience in individual and company taxation matters including CGT.

    Anne also has expertise in the 'not for profit' sector and brings an enthusiastic approach to giving pro-active advice to clients both large and small.

  • Chris Thorpe LLB (Hons) Barrister (Non-Practising) PGCE ATT CTA (Fellow) TEP

    Chris is a Fellow of the CIOT and full member of STEP, as well as a non-practising barrister. He qualified CTA with Grant Thornton in 2011 and has since worked in various accountancy firms, as well as a lecturer, writer and freelance consultant, primarily within the private client and agricultural sectors. He also works as a technical officer for the CIOT.

  • Malcolm Nichols CTA

    Malcolm spent many years with HM Customs & Excise including cargo clearance at Heathrow Airport and Inland Excise before specialising in VAT. He left Customs in 1990 to work in private practice.

    Malcolm has contributed sections to an online reference manual, hosted seminars on various VAT issues, and provided articles for publication.

    Malcolm has advised owner managed businesses on a wide range of issues such as construction industry VAT treatment and recovery, partial exemption for property developers, and the VAT margin schemes including tour operators.

    He successfully represented clients at VAT Tribunals, reducing penalties and challenging HMRC over VAT assessments leading to their being withdrawn.

  • Kye Burchmore LLB (Hons)

    Kye is a highly-experienced adviser in all areas of off-payroll working, including: IR35, employment status, agency legislation, umbrella companies and the MSC legislation. He also advises on the application of the Construction Industry Scheme. His advisory work covers document reviews, drafting and status audits through to defending companies under HMRC challenge.

    Kye is the author of Bloomsbury Publishing’s “Off-Payroll Working Tax Handbook” and writes for other organisations on these topics. He is also in the process of writing another book on employment status case law principles.

  • Jas Rai LLB (Hons) ATT

    Jas has 24 years of experience in employment taxes, having previously worked for Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, KPMG and PWC and is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians.

    Jas has extensive experience advising clients ranging from FTSE 100 companies to smaller owner managed businesses in all areas relating to employment taxes and PAYE/NIC. Specialisms include National Minimum Wage, IR35, employment status, salary sacrifice schemes, company cars, CIS, expenses and benefits, undertaking PAYE audits, and handling HMRC compliance reviews.

  • Gill Salmons MA (Oxon) CTA ATT

    Gill is a Chartered Tax Adviser with over 20 years’ experience of working with globally mobile employees, having worked with two of the Big 4 professional services firms and a large mid-tier provider. She has given technical presentations to the Chartered Institute of Taxation and co-authored articles in the professional press, as well as contributed to an online tax guide for practitioners.

    Gill is experienced at advising employers and their employees about cross-border issues including PAYE, National Insurance, double tax treaty matters, available claims and issues surrounding residence and domicile. She always aims to explain complex matters as clearly and simply as possible to her clients.

  • Chris Doyle MRICS CTA

    Chris is an industry recognised expert in Capital Allowances, who is both a Chartered Surveyor and Chartered Tax Adviser. He has over 25 years’ experience in all aspects of capital allowances consulting and has previously held senior positions in the Real Estate Tax Groups at PwC and Deloitte.

    Chris regularly advises clients ranging from individuals through to major multi-national companies on obtaining the greatest benefit from capital allowances.
